If you have kiosk screens that run an operating system that is not supported by Workplace, or where it’s not possible to provide the login credentials (eg because of a Mobile Device Management tool), you might not be able to roll out the out-of-the-box Workplace solution.

Thanks to below options, it’s still possible to visualize Workplace live floorplan data.

Option 1. URL with web authentication via Rest API: Reservation view

https://spacewell.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/72613940/Rest+API#Concrete-use-case:-URL-to-show-live-floorplan describes how to obtain a session token through API, which can be combined in a URL, so that anyone with the link can access the Web kiosk Reservation view (= combined Occupancy and Reservations data (if available)).

Limitations

• Web kiosk shows Reservation view (= combined Occupancy and Reservations data (if available))

• If browser crashes/computer is unplugged: restart the process to get a new access token

Option 2. Custom solution: Utilization view

Spacewell can provide a unique URL per floor, which will open GO touchpoint in utilization view.

Please reach out to your Spacewell Account Manager to have more information on this solution.

1. You’ll need to provide a custom unique string per floor in scope: 

   1. “Custom expression unique to the tenant+floor” (eg “windmill”)

   2. User name (user can have Workplace minimum rights “no roles found, unprivileged user”)

   3. User password

   4. Floor location ID (see https://spacewell.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/72613940/Rest+API#Testing-the-API:-examples on how to obtain Floor location ID)

2. Based on this information, Spacewell will provide 1 URL per floor (https://go.cobundu.com/livekiosk/windmill)

3. Upon opening this URL, GO will open while using this user details on the specified floor in utilization dimension

   • Under the hood, a valid session is started for the coded user

Limitations

• End-user cannot switch view of the opened floor plan in his session (utilization view is hard coded)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we set-up GO as a public web page?

It's not possible to set up a "public web page" for Workplace touchpoints, since every web page requires user authentication before we can show live floorplan (since we need user name to know which environment to connect to).

Can Spacewell provide a URL that contains login details?

It's also not possible to provide a URL that contains login details (providing login details in open form is considered a security breach).
