Import
The import functionality allows for a quick upload of large datasets into Workplace. By creating using an import connector with import mappings, it is possible to specify in which data table the various data should be stored. It is also possible to set up the imports to be carried out periodically. For instance, one could set up the import of employee data at the start of every month. To create a new import connector with the corresponding import mappings see….. Article. A number of preconfigured import connectors are available in Workplace.
Access the import connector via the import button on the startboard. Alternatively, it canDefault imports are available to import master data when setting up an environment. This allows for quickly filling the environment with for example: contacts, properties, and areas. By default we use files in csv-format for our imports.

How the defaults imports work is explained in detail in the articles that describe how to set up a new Workplace environment. In general, imports can be accessed
Press the Import button on the startBoard. Imports can also be accessed via the navigation menu:
Configuration>Import.
Open the import connector by clicking on the “reference”
Download the template.
Fill out the template, convert it to a CSV file, and upload the import file to Workplace.

It is important to fill in the first column of the template. This is a key value that the other data is connected to.
Export
Similarily Similar to the import functionality, the export functionality allows the for a quick download of large datasets from Workplace. It is also possible to configure a periodical download export of data.
Access the export connector via the export button on the
startBoard.
Exports can also be accessed via the navigation menu:
Configuration > Export.
Open the export connector by clicking on the “reference”

Automating an import or export
It is also possible to set up imports to be executed periodically from an FTP server.
Automated export can be set up to export date to: FTP servers and email.
