General
The navigationMenu and buttonBar should not be modified. Access to available menu options and buttons is automatically determined when running the Solution-Based Rollouts (SBR). E.g. after running Work order SBR, the corresponding menu option and buttons will become available.
A user Profile consists of user groups, a startBoard, and a navigation menu. During the first initialization of your Workplace environment, a number of user profiles are generated when using the Solution-Based Rollouts. User groups that are assigned to the each user profile determines the access to functionalities on the startBoard and the navigation menu.
StartBoards encompasses a cluster of information and functionalities greeting the user on the homepage.
A startBoard showcases the most frequently used functionalities for a specific user profile. Users cannot modify their own startBoard.
The available tiles (buttons) on the startBoard is determined by the access rights granted by authorization groups (= user groups).
A startBoard can be customized by the application manager by adding or removing reports.
A wizard can be used to create new user profiles with a unique startBoard.
A clear and fast startBoard is always preferred for optimal user experience. Don’t add all reports you can find to a startBoard, this will not benefit the user experience.
Creating a new user profile using the Wizard
After the initial profiles have been generated using the Solution-Based Rollout, it is still possible to create new user profiles via the Create User Profile Wizard. The Wizard will generate a new user profile and a new startBoard based on the user groups selected. During the setup of the wizard, it is possible to customize the startBoard by adding or removing reports.
To create a new profile with a starboard using the Wizard:
Navigate to the Admin menu via the navigation menu;
Click on Profiles;
Create a new user profile using the Create by wizard button;
Fill in the name and the description of the profile;
Alternatively press the 'Create userprofile' button on our startBoard.
Select user groups in the 'Select usergroups' include;
Click Next;
A startBoard is now auto-generated based on the selected user groups;
Edit the startBoard;
Don't delete or move the Announcement list and two button bars (these cannot be added again!);
Remove reports by clicking on the cross (next to the magnifying glass);
Add reports by clicking on the Add report button;
Select the desired reports and click on Add selected reports.
Adjust the positioning of the reports and includes using the Row, Column, With and Colspan.
To preview the startBoard, click on Show StartBoard;
To go back to the Wizard: click on the “Wizard_case_Wizard” in your crumble path > press 'Execute to restart the wizard;
Finish the user profile by clicking on Finish wizard;
The profile is now ready to be used and can be found via the ‘Profile’ button on your startBoard..
Note: Do not delete the includes during this process. A new profile must be created to be able to retrieve them.
Configure an existing startBoard
When generating a new user profile, a new startBoard is automatically generated based on the user groups added to the profile. During the initial setup of a user profile, some customization, like adding and deleting reports, is available. However, it is possible to adjust the startBoard post creation. To configure an existing startBoard:
Navigate to the Startboards button on the startBoard;
Select the startBoard that should be configured;
Click on Configure startBoard;
Edit the startBoard;
Delete includes or reports by clicking on the cross (next to the magnifying glass).
Add reports by clicking on the Add report button.
Press ‘Save and return’ to save the startBoard
Note: When changing an existing startBoard, the changes will take effect immediately for users that already have this profile
