Sensor Health

The “sensor health” that is visible in Studio is derived from when the sensor was last seen by COBUNDU based on the sensor’s heartbeat. Since every type of sensor has its own heartbeat frequency, the health of the sensor is evaluated per sensor type.

Please see below for the details of the “health thresholds” per sensor type.

KPI Health Cards for a global overview

In Devices, select a card to filter the overview below to show devices with that status.

Health Cards

• Unlinked devices: how many devices are set up for this tenant but not linked to a location?

• Linked devices: how many devices are linked to the tenant, or (if a location has been selected) to the selected location?

• Live devices: how many devices regularly communicate with the Cobundu platform?

• Devices to check: How many devices in the selected location have difficulty reaching the Cobundu platform? (see Sensor Health Logic below)

• Offline Devices: How many devices in the selected location are not connecting to the Cobundu platform? (see Sensor Health Logic below)

Location hierarchy has a color icon showing the worst status of sensors in that location (if 1 sensor in the floor is red, and 100 are alive: the icon will be red)

‪Location overview shows how many/which locations are underlying, how many devices are underlying and what is their connection status (ref sum is visible in KPI health cards).

Choose Spaces and drill down to a floor level in the location hierarchy
Select "Floor plan" visualization
If you want to drill down even more: Select "view by" (type)

Legend

- active/green: sensor is actively sending data to Cobundu
- limit/orange: sensor is not able to always reach a hub/data is not coming in regularly into Cobundu*
- bad/red: Cobundu is not receiving data from the sensor
  - if it says "never": could be sensor ID is not correct (check for typos)
- white: there is no sensor linked to this location

* Might be due to local issues with a hub (eg changes to splitter; hub removed or plugged out), and sensors are able to reach hubs that are further away. In order to find out more, check Sensor connectivity guide

If more than 1 sensor is linked to a location (eg motion sensor + comfort sensor placed in the same meeting room), Health Monitor will display the color of the least healthy sensor
(eg location might be red because of the 2 sensors linked to this location, 1 is not sending data anymore)

Possible actions:

mouse-over on location contains following information, for all sensors linked to this room
- sensor source (what kind of sensor)
- sensor channel (pir, headcount, humidity, temperature, ...)
- sensor ID
- Last seen: "x minutes/hours/days ago"
clicking on the location brings you to Sensor Devices, where filter is set to this location
