  • Create and edit custom themes & profiles

  • Push application settings and custom themes and profiles to your devices

Room Display customization is done through Device Control Platform, see

  • Device Control for Kiosk App: general information on Device Control platform

  • Custom Content: guidelines on how to upload and push custom content to end users via the room display

  • Profiles & themes, who will define the look & feel of your app, are described below

Profiles vs themes

PROFILES
‪Decide what is possible on the device

THEMES
Decide how the device UI looks like

Editing Profiles

Remember to check if the Device Hardware specifications are compatible with the chosen features (eg not every device supports NFC, or has a camera to allow for identification through QR code scanning)

 Getting Started
 Display type and menu options
 Meeting operations options

On Identification Methods

 Release ghost meetings

Meeting View Options / Book Meeting Options
Ticketing configuration (not possible with Workplace)
 Screensaver options & logo

“Plays after inactivity of…” should be minimum 1 minute, since the response of Kiosk app is also dependent on the response time of the device.

Logo Recommendations: Landscape with aspect ratio 6:1

Screensaver requirements:

  • File Type: mp4

  • Size: under 50MB

  • URL needs to be publicly available (e.g. on youTube or your own website). Workplace does not offer a service to host videos for your organization

  • Audio on the device should be disabled, or remove the audio from the video

  • The frame width and height need to be compatible with the device. Most devices will not rescale the video. The resolution for QBIC room displays can be found in this overview table.

If one or more of these requirements are not met, the screensaver will not start, show a black screen or freeze at the first frame.

Themes

 Getting Started

Deleting a Theme:

If you delete a theme that is in use by a device, you will get a warning message;

if you choose to continue, the default theme will be applied to the device

 Theme Name, Background

 Overlay and Timeline

 LED colors

Push application settings, profiles & themes to your devices

If you have few devices to configure, we recommend to push configurations to devices one by one

 Pushing configurations individually

Pushing configurations in bulk (using Excel)

Note

Selecting a level of a location hierarchy (i.e. Region) will not narrow down the next level (i.e. Room). This will produce an error if there is a mismatch.

If you would like to narrow down the spreadsheet, go to the master data tab and filter on your building, then copy and paste the correct room.
