    Factory Reset

    How to do a Factory reset?

    1. Connect the Kerlink to your laptop with an ethernet cable

    2. Open Kerlink platform (Depending on the gateway model, you have to visit another URL; see above)

    3. In tab Gateway, select action Factory Reset by applying button "reset gateway". Confirm the action in the pop-up. You’ll see a progress bar at the top of your screen.

    4. The button "reset gateway" in underneath Factory Reset now changed in "reboot gateway": select and confirm the action in the pop-up.

    What to do after a Factory reset?

  • Connect the Kerlink to your laptop with an ethernet cable

  • Open the network settings of your computer (right click on wifi icon)

    1. Go to "change adapter options"

    2. Right click on "WIFI" > select "Properties"

    3. Select tab "Share" and tick the first box (other network users can use your wifi connection)

    4. Specify which internet port/ethernet port you want to share the wifi network to

    5. WiFi properties should look like this now:

  • Open Kerlink platform (Depending on the gateway model, you have to visit another URL; see above); there you can see the IP address

    1. if you changed the password in the mean time, remember that the factory reset also does a password reset

    • If you don't have Putty yet, make sure to install Putty from

    Hoe voer ik een fabrieksreset uit?

    1. Sluit de Kerlink aan op je laptop met een ethernetkabel

    Wat te doen na een fabrieksreset?

    1. Sluit de Kerlink aan op je laptop met een ethernetkabel

    2. Open de netwerkinstellingen van je computer (klik met de rechtermuisknop op het wifi-pictogram)

      1. Ga naar "adapteropties wijzigen".

      2. Klik met de rechtermuisknop op "WIFI" > selecteer "Eigenschappen".

      3. Selecteer het tabblad "Delen" en vink het eerste vakje aan (andere netwerkgebruikers kunnen je wifi-verbinding gebruiken)

      4. Geef aan met welke internetpoort/ethernetpoort je het wifi-netwerk wilt delen

      5. WiFi-eigenschappen zouden er nu zo uit moeten zien:

    3. Open het Kerlink-platform (afhankelijk van het gateway-model moet je een andere URL bezoeken; zie hierboven); daar zie je het IP-adres

      1. Als je ondertussen het wachtwoord hebt gewijzigd, vergeet dan niet dat de fabrieksreset ook een wachtwoordreset uitvoert.

    4. Als je Putty nog niet hebt, installeer Putty dan vanaf https://www.putty.org/

    5. In Putty: copy paste the IP address that is mentioned on the Kerlink Platform under “Application”. Best practice is to use port 22

    6. Confirm you want to access the device (a black screen like in the screenshot below will open)

    7. Enter "root"

    8. Enter password that you get from the Spacewell Hardware team (The password they will provide includes (but is longer than) the last 6 digits from the Board ID that are written on the device; this password is case sensitive)

      1. in Putty, passwords are not shown, so the cursor will not move while you type

    12. Remember that you have now truly “factory” reset your device, so any configuration that you had done before, you will need to repeat (see “Hub Configuration > Activation steps)

    When you do Factory Reset on multiple devices, you might want to use this workflow

    1. Open the network settings of your computer (right click on wifi icon) and specify which internet port/ethernet port you want to share the wifi network to, as described above. You do this once.

    2. Perform factory reset + follow the steps after factory reset (3-10) + follow activation steps on all the devices

    3. At the very end, when you have configured the last device: Make sure to disable sharing your network in your computer's network settings after your work is done
