    Info

The data stream setup needs to be done once, then it will be possible to add new builds/areas in scope.

    Deploy sensors in Workplace Platform

Add New Device in Workplace back-end Studio

    1. Go to your environment (https://studio.cobundu.com) and log in

    2. Select the location, where you can manually add a sensor via "Add New Device"

    image-20240828-164825.png

Manually add device through location > devices > new: location is filled in.

‪Select the relevant Signify Device Type "Signify Occupancy". This will automatically link the “Presence” device channel. In Device ID, select the relevant area for this location.

    1. PRE, zigbee based Signify Lighting System: data is available through Lighting Spaces API. Choose Workplace device type “Signify Occupancy Lighting Space” to open the pop-up with available “devices” (count areas) for this tenant

    2. POE based Signify Lighting System: data is available through Sensor Spaces API. Choose Workplace device type “Signify Occupancy Sensor Space“ to open the pop-up with available “devices” (physical data points) for this tenant

    Info

If both Device Types are present in your tenant, each will depict very different location hierarchies, depending on the data that Signify provides to Spacewell.

When you click in the Device ID field, a pop-up showing the Signify location hierarchy for this API for the tenant will open. Select the relevant Signify device.

Enter a meaningful Device Name (eg customer_floor number_area).

Select a Location from the Spacewell location tree if this is already known (automatically filled in if location was selected before adding new device).

Linked Locations is not relevant for this kind of sensor. are probably only relevant for POE based Signify Lighting System sensors (device type “Signify Occupancy Sensor Space“), see comment below.

Only applicable for POE based Signify Lighting System sensors (device type “Signify Occupancy Sensor Space“): There is a high probability that there is no 1-to-1 mapping possible between the physical data point and the Workplace location.

    • In case there are multiple Signify occupancy sensors available in 1 location (for example a meeting room), you can simply map them all to that location.

    • In case 1 Signify occupancy sensor needs to provide its data to multiple Workplace locations (for example workplaces):

      • link the Signify occupancy sensor to the (virtual) room object, and visualize incoming data on workplaces using Linked Locations. (More information on Linked Locations: Live floorplan settings)

Selecting the correct Signify Device Type "Signify Occupancy " should automatically set the Type to "Presence" and the Channel to “PIR” (see Advanced).

For more information on how to add When it comes to adding multiple new devices to Studio, check out Configure devices (add, remove, import, and export).

    Info

Remember that there are 2 different Signify device types, based on the Signify Lighting System that was installed. Best practice is to register 1 device manually in Workplace and use the Device Export function to make sure you use the correct Device Type ID in the import file.

    Quality Assurance

Next step is the Quality Assurance to make sure that the whole installation and configuration of your Motion sensor was a success. See Quality Assurance Occupancy and Utilization Sensor

    Info

Spacewell cannot be held accountable for data quality or (lacking) accuracy related to occupancy data reported on a location, as it’s inherent to the way the sensors are installed and subsequently mapped.
