  • Create an area

Property

There are currently more than 500 objects available in Workplace; examples are Property, Area, and Asset.

Each unique appearance of an object is called an instance. Whenever we create a new instance of an object in Workplace, the reference will be automatically generated and is a unique identifier of the object. For Properties, this could look like: PRP-000001, PRP-000002, or PRP-000003.

A Property can be built up from multiple floors and different areas, which we will look at later.

To open the property module click on Properties in the menu:

To open the property module click on Properties in the menu:

In the property module, you can search for a property (building) and create a new property.

For example, we would like information about the Arnhem Spacewell location.
Type in “Spacewell” in the search bar and press Search. We then get all the locations with “Spacewell” in the name. If you leave the search bar empty and press search, you will see all the properties available in the system.

Let`s open “Spacewell Arnhem” by clicking on the Reference number. After opening the property, you can see information regarding the property, location details, and building details. It`s also possible to add a picture of the object.

In the property card, you see a tab called  “Areas.” In this tab, you can see which areas are part of a property.

Areas

To search for an area, click “Areas” under the Properties header in your menu.

You will see a screen in which you can filter the areas. There are different options for finding an area. If you leave everything empty, it will show all the areas available.
For example, if you filter on “Property,” you will only find areas that belong to that property.

The “Count” button will show only the total number of objects that fits your search filters, and the “Search” button will reveal the results of the search job.

To see more details of an area, double-click on the area number. You will see different tabs and options you can fill in regarding the area.  For example, you can make an area available for reservation.

Create new property

In the property module, you can create a new property.

By clicking on the “Create new property” button, you will open a new screen where you can create a new property and enter the details. It is also possible to add a sub-property to an (existing) property by using the “Create new property” at the bottom of the screen below the “Subproperties” header. A sub-property could be a parking lot or a separate server building.

Create new area

Within a property, you can create (additional) areas that belong to the property you have open. To do that, open a property and select the tab “Areas.” You will find the option “Create new area” above the list of areas.

You can create different things on the property.  A logical build could be:

·         Property → Floor → Area

·         Property → Floor → Workplace

In the example below, we add a new area and press create.

You can enter the details of the area, the size, a description if it`s reservable, and a photo.
Fill in all the info, and to save the new area, press the button “Save and return.”
