After reading this article, you’ll be able to:

  • Delete/ archive objects.

  • Tell the difference between deleting and archiving.

The difference between deleting and archiving

After deleting or archiving, an object can no longer be queried. From an end users point of view, there is one big difference between deleting and archiving.

  • If you would archive a property and that property is linked to a request, end-users (non-admin users) can still see the property in the request.

  • If you delete the property, the property field will appear empty in the request for end-users (non-admin users).

What happens to my deleted/ archived objects?

  • objects in the archive will stay there indefinitely, this is for example useful for contracts or users.

  • objects in the bin are, depending on the settings, permanently deleted after x days (default setting is that they will never be deleted).

Only system administrators have access to and can query the bin and archive. They can also restore objects.

Deleting and archiving objects

If the delete and archive buttons are available for you depends on the configuration. There are multiple ways to delete/ archive object:

 1. single object (after opening the object)
  1. Open the object (request, visitor, reservation, document, etc).

  2. Press the delete or archive button.

 2. single object from a list page
  1. Open the listpage.

  2. Press the delete button for the object you want to delete.

 3. multiple items from a list page
  1. Open the list page.

  2. Select one or more items.

  3. Press the ‘Select’ button at the top of the page/ include.

  4. Choose ‘Delete selected objects’ or 'Archive objects'.
