When your organization uses Single Sign On (SSO) you don’t need a password to log in, but you will be logged in automatically. If this is the case you can skip this article.

Via the module settings, it is possible to specify and edit the password requirements for the users:

The following settings are available:

Setting

Explanation

Password expiration

Determines if/ when a password needs to be update. This can be set to:

  • None (this is also the default if empty)

  • Once (the user will be forced to update the password when login in the first time)

  • Periodically (The user will be forced to update the password every x days, based on the next field)

Days

Number of days that a password is valid if a password is set to expire periodically

Password length

Minimum length of the password

Special characters

Minimal number of special characters. Examples are: !@#$%

Non alphabetic characters

Minimal number of non alphabetic characters. Examples are: 123!@#

Password history limit

This number is the number of recent passwords from which the new password must differ. For example, if the limit is 3, the new password must be different than the most recent 3 passwords.
