Use content management to create and publish information and inform end-users about company news, announcements, instructions or any other relevant corporate information.

How to Access device Control

  • Go to https://devicecontrol.cobundu.com/

  • Log in with your Workplace Admin credentials

    • to set up content, you need “contentcontributor” role

    • to manage content, you need “contentadmin” role

  • Upon login, you’ll be prompted to open Device Control for Kiosk application or for Workplace App.

    • Select “Kiosk” or “Workplace”

  • In the left-hand menu, choose to

    • set up content in the Content Library

    • manage content through Content Administration

‪Upload documents, videos and pictures on the Custom Content Library.

Select the uploaded content and define how to present this information to end-users in the Workplace app or Kiosk app through the Custom Content Administration portal.

Step 1. Create a Content Library

Content can be of multiple types:

  • Document type PDF (file size max 50 MB)

  • Picture (supported formats: png, jpg and svg; file size max 50 MB)

  • Video (supported format: mp4; file size max 50 MB)

    • if your custom content video has sound, the sound will be available in the Workplace app, but the video will be muted on the Kiosk app

  • URL (opens a browser window with a “Back” button/limited features)

  1. Create a unique name for your content. This will be visible in the Content Library.

  2. Choose an icon and select your file from your computer. Open Preview to be certain of the chosen file.

  3. Add content labels for different languages. This will be visible on the touch point.

    1. You need to add at least 1 (default) label

    2. If there is no language label defined for the chosen language on the device, the default label is displayed

  4. Save your content to the library

Step 2. Setup rules for publishing content (Content Administration)

Workplace App

  1. Create a unique name for your Content Configuration.

  2. Select “Workplace” to show this content in Workplace app.

  3. Select view as:

    1. Action Tile

    2. Home screen card

    3. Full Screen popup: 2 additional fields will appear:

      1. Select when the content needs to be shown (when app opens, upon first time login or upon first time login in a day)

      2. set the minimum duration of the popup (max 60 seconds)

  4. Add a small description so another/future administrator will be able to judge the entry.

  5. Select the uploaded content from the Content Library.

  6. Choose for which locations/buildings and/or users this content will be available

  7. Save your content to the library

Kiosk App

  1. Create a unique name for your Content Configuration.

  2. Select if you want to show this content in Kiosk app Floor Display mode or Room Display mode.

  3. Set view as “Menu Tile”

  4. Add a small description so another/future administrator will be able to judge the entry.

  5. Select the uploaded content from the Content Library.

  6. Choose for which locations/buildings and/or users this content will be available

  7. Save your content to the library

Step 3. Push custom content to Workplace app or Kiosk

Workplace App

Depending the chosen view mode

  • log in to the app to allow the Workplace Platform to check if it needs to show the Full Screen Popup

  • if already logged in: refresh the app (on the home screen: swipe to pull down, refresh date will be indicated) to add Action tiles and Home Screen Cards

Kiosk App

Custom content needs to be pushed to the devices:

  • if available in the profile, choose the option “Change Language” to fetch the custom content from the Workplace Platform

  • force reload configuration:

    • you can force reload configuration on the device by logging out of the app (you’ll need to provide the Kiosk user password) and select button “Force Reload Configuration”

    • you can force reload configuration through Device Control > Kiosk > Devices tab: select all relevant devices and select button “Force Reload Configuration”

Step 4. View published content in Workplace app or Kiosk

Select a Custom Content tile to open the content in full screen mode.

FAQ

 Can we add a link which opens a Workplace external app?

Yes, it’s possible to use Custom Content to open a Third Party App.

Prerequisites

For the app to open on the customer’s device, the app needs to be installed on the device.

How to configure?

Create an HTML page with a redirect to the Third Party App.

How to use?

Third Party App will open on it’s start screen. In case this is a log-in screen, user can log in now.
