Learning Objectives

After reading this article, you’ll be able to:

  • Map neighborhoods on floorplans

Grouping locations allows users to identify zones or neighborhoods.

‪Users can find a space based on multiple search criteria (Workplace app + GO).

For example I’m looking for a workplace (or meeting room) AND in the HR Neighbourhood AND

  • close to coffee,

  • with lots of lights

  • with dual monitors

‪As an admin, you can create endless types of space groups and assign Workplace locations.

‪A location can be assigned to multiple groups. These groups will be available in:

  • Search criteria

  • Real-Time Floorplan

In short: Create a zone in Studio and link locations to that zone. Set a color that will highlight this zone on live floor plans in Go and Workplace App. Per floor, only relevant zones will be shown.

How to access

Zones

As a default, there is 1 Zone Category with name “Zones” available in Workplace.

  1. Set a meaningful name for your zones

  2. Add locations to your zones

  3. Set a color that will highlight this zone on live floor plans in Go and Workplace App.

Next to being able to filter Search results or visualize Zones on all Workplace touch points, Zones

Groups

An admin can create endless types of groups which results in infinite types of mapping layers on the floor plans.

A user can search for rooms or workplaces or view on floor plan, based on a specific feature of that location:

  • e.g. neighborhoods, zones, departments, teams, types

  • e.g. rooms with windows, rooms nearby emergency exit

  1. Create a new Group Category

  2. Set a meaningful name for your underlying groups, that will differentiate the features between the locations

  3. Add locations to your groups

  4. Set a color that will highlight this set of locations on live floor plans in Go and Workplace App.

Next to being able to filter Search results or visualize Location Grouping on all Workplace touch points, Groups

Location Grouping Import / Export

Some tips & tricks on Location Grouping Import / Export:

  • When in “Zones”, the export will contain all the Zones and their configuration

  • When in “Groups”, the export will contain all Group Categories for which at least 1 group has been defined (in other words: will list the same Group Categories for which you also see the import/export buttons in Studio)

  • It’s not possible to create a Group Category through import

  • It is possible to create a Group through import, just leave the Group ID field empty

  • It’s not possible to remove a Group Category or a Group through import

    • To remove all locations from a Group, just keep 1 row with an empty Location ID field
