Elsys comfort sensors check for Humidity + CO2 + Temperature.
Check here the checklist for installation: Checklist for installation
Double sided tape (see Tabs Sensors installation guides for more information)
Hubs
Elsys connect over the LoRa network. Make sure you install your LoRa hub before installing the sensors (check out LoRa Gateways / Hubs installation guides for more information).
Sensor Installation
- chest-level (1m60/5.25 feet), preferably next to a light switch or HVAC control unit
- not over a heating body or in direct sunlight
- not behind a cupboard, a tv, ...
2. Prep the sensor
If 1 sensor (or just a few) is purchased, the batteries are IN the sensor; they can be activated by pulling the tab.
Only for larger quantities the sensors are packed separately in a plastic tray (2 batteries are needed per sensor). 1 tray = +/- 75 batteries
1. Remove the back panel of the sensor with a small screwdriver.
Keep the back panel and the sensor together, since the sensor ID is indicated on the back panel!
2. Install the batteries. The ERS CO2 requires one or two AA batteries. The battery type is 3.6V Lithium Battery (ER14505). You can use one battery, but it’s recommended that you use two for best performance and battery life. Use battery slot A if only one battery is used.
Caution: Using batteries other than the ones provided may result in loss of performance and battery life, and also damage to the device. Dispose of properly, observing environmental protection rules.
3. Mount the back panel on the wall using some of the six mounting holes: there are 6 points where you can set a screw, mount using at least 2 screws. Alternatively, it can also be mounted using adhesive tape.
Caution: This device must not be placed near any louver, air vent, or other places exposed to fresh air (e.g., windows, door openings). Such placement will give false CO2 values.
4. Attach the sensor part to the back panel.
Sensor configuration (optional)
All sensor settings can be configured via a smartphone application with NFC (Near Field Communication)
NFC Configuration (optional) (Android phone with Elsys app needed!!)

- Remove the device. Current settings will be displayed in the application.
- Use the application to change settings
- Change the Timebase from 300 to 900 Sec
- Change the Motion configuration from PIR:Count to Off
- Change the AppEUI under Sensor keys from 0 to 70b3d57ed002286a
- ONLY FOR USA: Change the Frequency plan under Version 2 features from "3 EU868" to "4 US915"
- Quickly tap the device on top of the NFC antenna to give the new settings to the sensor. Make sure that the application confirms your new settings.
- Wait for the sensor to reboot (5 sec), indicated by the LED flashing. Sensor settings have been updated.
Studio Configuration
On the back panel of the sensor, you will find the Device ID (format A81758fffe0xxxxx). This is the ID to use to assign the device to your tenant and do the location mapping in Studio.
In Studio > Devices > Add New Device,
- select Sensor Type "Elsys ERS CO2"
- enter the device ID with dashes after every 2 characters (format A8-174-58-FF-FE-0x-xx-xx)
