Learning Objectives

After reading this article, you’ll be able to:

  • Check the set-up in VergeSense Platform

  • Configure the device to its location in the Workplace Platform


This guide helps to check the configuration of the VergeSense devices on the VergeSens Platform and describes the configuration of VergeSense devices on Workplace back-end Studio.

For a more detailed understanding of the VergeSense Platform, please consult the /wiki/spaces/KB/pages/492301 manual.

Deploy sensors in VergeSense Platform

Link the device IDs from the physical installation to the relevant location in the /wiki/spaces/KB/pages/492301 Installer Tool.

Before linking a new sensor device, the sensor must be powered up and have internet access to the VergeSense cloud (make sure to check the VergeSense hardware & network requirements).

  1. In the /wiki/spaces/KB/pages/492301 > Settings > Installer Tool, choose the relevant floor.
    Select “Device Installation”

  2. Select an area location (remember that a meeting room might need 2 sensors to cover the whole count area)

  3. In the “Enter Sensor ID” field, enter the number that is provided on the sticker on the VergeSense sensor. Serial numbers should be inserted using the following format: XXX-XXX.

  4. Click Confirm and verify that the sensor’s connection status changes to green / the “linked” symbol.

You can only link one device at a time.

VergeSense Commissioning

Inform your Spacewell Implementation Consultant when all sensors are installed.

VergeSense will check the installation and will either confirm/commission the sensor, or will provide a feedback in the “notes” section of each sensor.

If they leave a note, reposition or re-install the sensor to make sure the sensor is positioned correctly.

Only after commissioning (per location) is finalized (see VergeSense sensor installation), data will be send to the Workplace Platform.

Deploy sensors in your Workplace tenant 

Deploying sensors in Workplace can only be done by Spacewell.

For Spacewell external users: please contact your Implementation Consultant and indicate your tenant and the relevant VergeSense Platform area names that need to be mapped in Studio.

For Spacewell Implementation Consultants:

  • using your multi-tenant account (see /wiki/spaces/KB/pages/491811), you can create/modify areas in Studio. The drop down list starts at VergeSense Management Platform site level.

  • make sure to book a ticket for the Workplace Dev team to link your VergeSense environment with Workplace through API, as described in /wiki/spaces/KB/pages/127533075

Be aware that only after a sensor is commissioned, this sensor will be visible in your tenant.

  1. Go to your tenant (https://studio.cobundu.com)

  2. Go to Devices > "Add New Device"

  3. Select "VergeSense" in Device Type

  4. Select the detection area (that has been set up in VergeSense Platform) from the Device ID drop down list

    1. Because the Device ID drop down list includes ALL Workplace tenants, it's not possible to select VergeSense Platform device ID by using a tenant-direct-login in Studio. For Spacewell external users: please contact your Implementation Consultant and indicate your tenant and the relevant VergeSense Management Platform area names that need to be mapped in Studio.

  5. Give a meaningful name

    1.  Make sure Room Name and Space Ref. ID are meaningful to you in the VergeSense Platform, so that in Studio you can use the simple search function 

  6. Map against the installation location in Studio

  7. Save/Submit your changes

Quality Assurance

After sensor configuration, follow the Quality Assurance Occupancy/Utilization Sensor instructions to make sure all use cases are covered.
