We still offer Door & Window switch Tabs, but we now also offer Sensative Strips, which might be a better option for you.

 

 

Ideally, before this sensor is installed, a tabs hub needs to be installed and confirmed working - otherwise the sensor will deplete itself looking for a hub.

After installation:

Installation Flow

1. Decide HOW to install
• Installation is done as high up the door as possible
• Indicate on the Sensor Plan where to place all sensors, incl where the sensor placement deviates from this normal procedure

2. Prep the sensor
Place 2 pieces of adhesive tape on the side of the sensor on the side with tabs embossed.
Caution! Do not place any tape on the sticker side.
Place 1 piece of adhesive tape on the flat side of the magnet.

When installing the sensor and magnet make sure the door will not be blocked by either part. Place the magnet on the door itself. Place the sensor on the door frame with the LED facing towards the magnet.

3. Install sensor
•Check the Sensor Plan and decisions from Step 1
•Indicate Sensor IDs on the floorplan > excel for mapping (last 8 digits (blue box 1))
•"deviating" sensors should be indicated as such on the Sensor Plan

  1. Remove the clear battery strip to power up the sensor (red box 2).
  2. During installation, it's important to clean the installation surface to remove dust particles which have a great influence on the strength of the adhesive bond. This can be done using a simple dust cloth.
  3. Once the surface is clean, remove the adhesive tape cover and mount the sensor on the desired location.
  4. Press the sensor firmly for 5 seconds against the installation surface

Repeat the last 3 steps for the magnet.

 

4. Send Sensor Plan with sensor placement indication to Spacewell (scan, picture) for mapping

(Allow time for upload sensor ID and mapping (Spacewell), following Tabs (Tracknet) configuration guide)


Quality Assurance

Once the Door & Window switch Tabs are installed and mapped in Cobundu, it's important to do Quality Assurance.

In both GO and Studio, you should see pulse count adding up each time the door is opened (for Live Floorplan and Dashboards, only transition from 0 to 1 is counted = only door opening is counted).
