New version vs new document
In some cases it’s better to upload a new version of a document than to create a new document. This is for example common practice for email and report templates.
New documents can be uploaded as previously explained in this article.
Uploading a new version of a document is explained below.
Uploading a new document version
Open the document by pressing the magnifying glass (if you’re on the instance page) or by looking up the existing document via the Document module.
Now press the ‘Upload’ button or navigate to the ‘Versions’ tab to upload a new version (usually the drag and drop functionality is available here).
Document folders
Documents can be organized in document folders, same as you would do on your own computer. If the folder functionality is available on the page you’re on you’ll find it as follow.
The folder structure is opened automatically upon opening a document tab/ page.
By pressing the ‘Folder’ button on the top of the include.
The folder structure now opens.
Select one of the folders
A document that is now uploaded is added to this folder.
Creating new folders is usually limited to a very small group of users. So it’s very likely that you can only make use of existing document folders.
