Object search
An administrator has the option to quickly search for a specific object using the object's reference (e.g. CTR-123456 (Contract)) or can search objects based on the object type (e.g. Request, WorkOrder, Organization, etc.).
With these search options, the administrator can search for a single object or multiple objects from a dedicated location, without the need to navigate to the module’s navigation menu option. Also it allows the administrator to search objects without a dedicated search option.
It also eliminates the need to create a custom (temporary) report to find the objects.
Find object by reference
The ‘Find object by reference' can be found, via the 'Admin’ navigation menu option:
When selecting this search option, a search screen is presented, where the user needs to enter the object’s complete reference (search on exact match) and has the option to also specify to search in the bin (bin, archive, template, etc.).
The result shows the object’s reference, the type of object and the category (only if the object has a category). From the result page, the specific object can be navigated to.
Via the 'Find object by reference' search page, it is also possible to select the option to search by uniqueReference:
An object’s uniqueReference is usually used in integrations (e.g. External calendar intergation) and via this search option, the administrator is also able to find the object without the need to navigate to the object’s advanced search page.
Find objects by object type
The ‘Find objects by object type' can be found, via the 'Admin’ navigation menu option:
Via the 'Search objects by object type' the administrator can specify an object type and an optional create time to find object of the specified object type. This can be very useful to determine, if the customer uses a specific object or just to quickly find objects from a specific object type created in a specified period.
The result shows the object’s create time, the user who created the object, the object’s identifier and the object type. The identifier of the object is by default the reference, but if the object does not have a reference, the uniqueReference is used as the identifier (e.g. for object type SystemUser). From the result page, the specific object can be navigated to.
