Learning Objectives

  • Install your kiosk device

Take a look at the Checklist hardware on-site visit/installation to make sure that you have all the needed tools on hand.

Hardware & Network Requirements

 Network requirements

On the network, the devices must have HTTP & HTTPS access via port 80 & 443.

Kiosk application accesses below URLs:

 

The IP addresses are dynamic for both Cobundu & Device Control, meaning they might (and will!) change in the future. Therefore a Static IP is not required or even possible.

 Hardware requirements

Where the kiosk will be installed, an Ethernet cable (RJ-45) and 2 power plugs are required (all kiosks larger than 22” come with a separate backpack: screen and backpack are powered separately): Both the screen and the PC are powered independently over DC power, so foresee 2 power sockets.


Connecting the device via Wi-Fi is also possible, but RJ-45 provides a more stable connection.

22” series
The 22' kiosk has the Android PC built in the device (like a regular tablet). No cables required

32-43” series
The Android Backpack needs to be connected to the screen using the USB-C cable provided in the box. This cable will provide both video and touchscreen capabilities

55” series
The Android Backpack needs to be connected to the screen using the HDMI cable for video and the USB-C cable for touchscreen capabilities

Installing the QBIC BOX PC in combination with an ELO screen

  1. Install the WiFi antenna on the QBIC BOX PC (if applicable / network connectivity through WiFi. Not needed if ethernet cable will be used)

  2. Place the following cables in the QBIC BOX PC:

    1. HDMI

    2. USB-C

    3. Ethernet cable (if applicable / network connectivity through ethernet cable. Not needed if WiFi will be used)

  3. Connect the HDMI + USB-C cables from the QBIC BOX PC to the ELO screen

  4. Connect the power cords in QBIC BOX PC and ELO screen

  5. Place the QBIC BOX PC in the opening at the back of the ELO device
